Colour Dome Camera

Digital Video Recorder

A Digital Video Recorder (DVR) is used in the same way as a VCR.  There are two main differences.  First, a hard drive, similar to the hard drive in your computer, is used to store the images from the cameras.  Second, the DVR itself is like a computer.  Infact there are DVR cards that allow you to run your own computer like a DVR.  SSI does not recommend using a computer as a DVR because computers often crash.
